Greetings!

Welcome to the homepage of the Florida Folklore Society. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the University of Central Florida (UCF) Cultural Heritage Alliance, an organization that seeks new and meaningful ways to bring the Central Florida community together by celebrating the region’s rich diversity through education, technology-based heritage projects, folklife research, preservation and network-building. Dr. Kristin Congdon is Director and Dr. Natalie Underberg is Program Coordinator.

The Cultural Heritage Alliance began in 2002 as a joint effort of the UCF College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of State, Florida Folklife Program. Now centered in the new UCF School of Film and Digital Media, the Alliance is proud to host the Florida Folklore Society for a two-year period beginning August 2003. As part of our commitment, the Alliance is organizing this year’s Florida Folklore Society Annual Meeting.

In late 2005 Danny Coeyman, Devin Dominguez, and Chantale Fontaine visited Stetson Kennedy, a founding member of the Florida Folklore Society. This special visit was made in honor of FFS's 25th anniversary this year. Follow the link below to watch video clips and to learn more about our interview with Kennedy.
